Goodwill to open new facility in Greensboro Hunter Stedman, January 8, 2025 Triad Goodwill is planning to expand operations into a new 176,000 square-foot building that will be constructed on land the nonprofit recently purchased in eastern Greensboro. The nonprofit’s Senior Leadership team and Board of Directors has approved a plan to develop 21 of the 44 acres bought at 3410-3432 McConnell Road, according to a news release on Tuesday. The new center will be known as the Sustainability Center and will serve as the site for the organization’s warehousing and retail operations. It will also include 10,000 square feet of event space. Recycling of materials ranging from electronics and textiles to glass and plastic will also be another major function at the center. “Triad Goodwill diverts more than 15 million pounds of material from local landfills annually and is one of the largest recyclers of materials in the area,” according to the release. “The expanded space will provide room for more state-of-the-art recycling equipment and increase the organization’s capacity to repurpose materials that otherwise become waste.” People are also reading… Goodwill is currently working with Samet Corporation on the design of the new complex.
